Copenagen Fashion Week

Tea Paper released their very hyped magazine on Friday - and there were crowded - guest from international magazines, bands, PR agencies, galleries etc.

On the above picture I was trying to make my way up the stairs to the main room, catching Tea Papers Feature Editor Ezra Shami on his way down.

Later on I went by Batcave Cabaret - with full house, nice 80's music and people dressed to die!

Saturday I was at the KEA Fashion show, where my good friend Christian Anker modelled, wearing the clothes of the upcoming designer: Marco Storm

With free entrance to the Gallery fashion fair, I thought I would visit the Flying A exibition - and to my luck, they were throwing a smaller party, with a DJ playing some nice lounge music, and free Somersby!

Saturday night…. Jazzhouse threw a Unique Models, Flying A & Gallery international fashion fair party.

Last night Paris Texas threw a smaller reception, where everyone was invited. I went there as a warm-up for the LEVIS party.
The LEVIS party started at 23pm - Where you entered a gate, gave you name, got 2 buttons (Exchanged for two drinks), and went upstairs - where you could find Kasper Bjørke playing nice lounge music (Later Replaced by a live set with When Saints Go Machine).

Tonight it is going down on top of the old ZOO BAR (Kronprinsensgade), where TEA PAPER launches their new magazine with 1.000 free bears, and 800 confirmed guest.

Also, The Batcave Cabaret party takes form at 22pm and goes on all night and morning until 08am - On Skindergade 20 København K (In the Basement).
Line up includes: Christian D'or (The Dark Disco King), Casper Sennenwald, Kasper Krull, Cille Zoop and live performance by LAGO.
Expect: DEPECHE MODE - ULTRAVOX - HEAVEN 17 - THE HUMAN LEAGUE - KRAFTWERK - THE SMITHS - SISTERS OF MERCY - KILLING JOKE - THE CURE - SILICON TEENS - YAZOO - SOFT CEL - ETC!!!

Hi. My name is Mikael van Ark - And I will be updating you regarding the Copenhagen Fashion Festival in the next week.
I am representing the event blog XUP.DK, which basically keeps Copenhagen youngsters updated on parties and such, in the Copenhagen sub cultural nightlife.
I will primarily write about parties and special events that are worth a visit. So check in for additional information daily.

First of all, it is important to know, that Copenhagen Fashion Festival is an open festival for everyone interested.
It is a series of events and happenings, all cycling around the fashion week. Lots of parties, receptions, exhibitions and other creative events around Copenhagen will take form this week.

First of, one of my favorites:

Sneak Peak is an exhibition with showpieces from different Danish designers' spring / summer or autumn / winter 2010 collections. Selected models will be dressed in the borrowed clothes and will show it in various showcases on Rådhuspladsen.
DJ Sami Kid will play music to create the right atmosphere.

The idea is to give a "sneak peek" of the various fashion shows throughout the fashion week. In other words, reveal a little bit and show what they can expect from Danish design in the near future.

I just saw this incredible lookbook on one of my favorite Danish blogs, afasthiontale.dk.
The collection shown is Veronica B Vallenes aw10 collection - and I simply want every single garment shown above.

One of the things that I love most about fashion weeks, is to watch the display of street styles among the fashionable people attending the shows.
The pictures above are all taken at Stockholm fashion week - they work great as inspiration for how to dress during these cold winter months.

Yesterday I was all black!! Normally when I wear a completely black outfit I use different textures - but yesterday I wore the exact same texture on both my top and my cardigan. And I actually thought it created a pretty good effect :-)

I just bought these shoes from weekday that I've been drooling about since I saw them at a preview in Gothenburg. I don't have a lot of practical shoes and therefore they're going to be a real asset in my shoe collection. Furthermore it's quite funny that you can change their appearance by adding some colorful socks - because of the transparent sides.

I'm a huge fan of acne in general - but especially their shoes.
Therefore I was really excited to see their AW10 collection yesterday.
And once again I think they've succeeded big time.
I want a pair in every color, please! :)

This summer is all about wooden platforms as seen in chanels ss10 show.
I really like the trend, and luckily so do many highstreet stores and other designers.I've found some examples here from Chanel, Topshop, Jessica Simpson, Jeffrey Campbell & Diane von Furstenberg.

When I was a little girl, I remember saying to my mum while watching some royal wedding that when I was going to get married it HAD to be in a Valentino dress. Now over 10 years later I still feel the same way.
For me Valentino is the epitome of elegance and in this season (spring 2010) it's reflected by the delicate way the clothing and the shoes are wrapped around the models, I love the colors, the styling, and I love how the collection is actually quite wearable even though it's couture.
I might get started on putting some money aside.
One day I must have a Valentino Couture dress in my closet - well, a girl is allowed to dream! J

A few days ago I spottet a blazer with stripes in Monki. Maybe I should go for it?

I have a great pair of suede Doc Martens for this winter. I'm really loving my Doc Martens and i'm using them every single day. This spring I will look for a pair of floral Docs. I'm really loving the look!

Too much shopping?! The picture shows the shopping that we did yesterday in Malmø, Sweden. I bought a lot of great stuff. Great shopping day! :)

I have posted a lot of outfits on my blog in 2009 and some of them were a great succes. It's really important for me to feel good in my clothes. I think that it is important to show of your best side when you're going out, so i'm always flashing a lot of legs. Haha! I always dress up when i'm going to a restaurant or drinking cocktails in Copenhagen, and heels are important! My favourit outfit of 2009 is from December 2009, when I went to this great restaurant called "Madklubben" in Store Kongensgade. I was wearing a playsuit from H&M, transparent shirt from Zara, dotted tights from Falke, a bag from Dixie, necklace from Ebay and wedges from My favourites.

Elin Kling's beautiful assistant Emma Elwin has great style and great taste. She's definitely one of my biggest inspirations at the moment. Yesterday she posted this to-die-for white dress, that she wore at the swedish ELLE-galla last year. I think that it's a great white dress, perfect for tanned legs and summer in Copenhagen. My nails are always polished. I'm painting my nails after my mood, and I have a great selection of cheap and expensive brands. Yesterday I bought this blue nailpolish to 30dkk in H&M. After three layers and a topcoat it's perfect for this thursday.

Hey you guys. Are you having a great day so far? I'm totally into thursdays, because it's one day closer to friday and fridays are NICE. I have great plans for the weekend! Tip of the day is a sample sale at "so last year"-store in Bragesgade 10C, 2200 KBH N. They are having great designeritems to a really low price. I'm gonna go! :)

I have a thing (or two :)) for feathers, so when I saw this feather collar on one of my favourite bloggers Betty (www.leblogdebetty.com), I had to get one myself. But I was too slow - It was sold out everywhere. So sad! I hate when my shopping karma is bad.

Well, a few weeks went by, without a feather collar in my closet and then... My friend Ditte was selling a lot of clothes and I ended up buying a beautiful feather collar from Topshop, thanks to her. Yay!

I'm really looking forward wearing my cool feather collar to fashion week with my leatherjacket, skinny jeans and heels or a little black dress. Rock and roll!

the 80's with many types of Vogue covers. The covers are from 1900 to 1970.
I really like the one with Twiggy, the mod and a bit of hippie felling is really nice!

I bought this Acne dress on Ebay a couple of weeks ago at a really cheap price. I have been craving it for such a long time, and it fits perfectly.

It's sooooo cold in Copenhagen these days, actually it's freezing in all of Denmark. I'm craving the summer and looking forward to wearing my old Levi's shorts and my summer dresses.

I was in love with this chanel-ish Zara jacket, when I tried it on in London in august, and actually I still am. It was on sale right before Christmas, but I still thought it was too expensive.
I really wish that it will be marked further down when I visit Zara this Weekend. Fingers crossed.

A nice glass of wine was just what I needed during this boring exams. Is it just me or is it like you focus better when you've had a single glass of wine or two? Or maybe it's just a poor excuse? Anywho procrastination has most definitely become the definition of my studying for this exam.

Yesterday I made a quick stop at Topshop where floral dresses was all over the place. This is only a small selection of what they had to offer. I don't really know wether or not they my still but I'm on the look for the perfect one. I must admit that I'm really looking forward to all of the wonderful colors this season.

My all time favorite vintage shop have to be Jagtvejens Genbrug on Østerbro - they always have such great finds and especially furs! I'm considering a Tibetan fur where. I'd probably cut off the arms and make it into an oversized vest, but unfortunately I didn't find the right one. I really like the beaded black dress but it didn't make it home even though I'm still thinking about it.

Charlotte and I hadn't had time to check out Zoo Bar after they re-opened on Sværtegade, but fortunately we got the chance to stop by after work. I absolutely loved the new place, though it is a totally different style than the 'old' Zoo Bar. Charlotte had a delicious tuna salad, while I just couldn't resist the classic Zoo Burger. It's always a sure winner. Mmm ..
