Welcome backstage
It's no secret that I love fashion week. But as much as I adore the perfectly polished models walking down the runways in high heels, it’s the much more chaotic backstage that really rocks my boat. There's no place like backstage during a fashion week. Wigs, lipgloss, styling irons, lashes, models and clothes in one big hodgepodge. This is where new, exciting beauty trends are formed, where makeup artists create a whole look with just lipstick, and hair gurus style hair beautifully in minutes. It is where Karl Lagerfeld changes an entire fashion show by just looking at his assistants, where Stine Goya makes all the models look like clones of herself, and where Viktor & Rolf get the models drunk to ensure that they smile and have a party on the catwalk. It is definitely also where you get the very best gossip. During fashion week I spend most of my time backstage.
